I don’t remember much - just the car driving off and the silence after. I was alone, scared, and hiding in the bushes of a quiet neighbourhood. People left food and water, but I was too afraid to come close.
One lady kept coming back. She never pushed, just sat nearby and spoke gently. Day after day, her kindness chipped away at my fear. Eventually, after months, I stopped running. I sniffed her hand. It smelled like safety. I liked the dog she was walking too. Maybe we could be friends.
She took me in and named me Prince. Now I temporarily live with her and my sister Yuki, who was rescued too. We have warm beds, full bowls, and quiet naps side by side. The kind lady says I’m waiting for my forever home. But now, I wait with hope -because I know what love feels like and I’m starting to trust these humans.
