✨ Hi, my name is Dahab - which means Gold in Arabic ✨
And just like my name, I am truly like gold to my rescuer and everyone who knows me.
I was once the youngest in a group of six stray dogs living in a very busy residential area. Humans didn’t welcome us, so I grew up hiding, running away anytime someone came near. Trusting people was never easy for me.
But then she found me… my rescuer. She started feeding my little tribe every single day, no matter how hard it was. At first, I only ate from a distance, keeping my space. But little by little, something changed… I started waiting for her every day. And when she arrived with my favorite treat - chicken necks - I would dance with joy, wagging and spinning, even though I still didn’t let her touch me.
For more than four years, she never gave up on me. She tried many times to rescue me, but I was too afraid. Until last August - finally - I let her take me with her. At first, I was terrified. I didn’t understand why I was taken away from my tribe. But then I remembered… the trust we had built over the years, the love in her eyes. That’s when I began to feel safe and believe that my new life was finally starting.
Now, I am a lovely, kind, and very smart girl. I love to play, I love to dance when I’m happy, and I’m learning that humans can mean love, safety, and joy. 🌸
I am Dahab, and my story is proof that patience and love can turn fear into gold. 🐾💛
