I was just a tiny puppy when the world felt big and
cold. I had no mother, no siblings - only the hard ground
beneath me and the space between two cars to hide in.
I didn’t cry anymore. No one ever came when I did.
Until one day, someone did.
She moved gently, spoke softly, and smelled like
something warm and safe. When she picked me up, I felt
a heartbeat against my body. I hadn’t felt that in a long
time. I stopped shaking.
She took me to a place with bright lights and kind
hands. They gave me shelter, food, and a name—Maple.
They said I was sweet and soft like the tree.
Now I’m safe, warm, and growing stronger every day.
I’ve spent my puppy years surrounded by other rescue
animals. It has been safe and comfortable but now I’m
ready for my own home.
