My name Marron
I didn't have the easiest start. I came from a racing farm — born into a life that was decided for me before I ever took my first steps. Every day looked the same. Run, rest, repeat. I wasn't a dog to them, not really. I was a number. A result. A time on a clock.
I didn't know to be sad about it, because I didn't know what I was missing.
But then Furkids found me. Or maybe I found them — honestly, it doesn't matter how it happened. What matters is that it did.
Getting used to sanctuary life took a little time. Things were quieter. Gentler. People looked at me differently — not to measure me, just to see me. And slowly, something in me started to loosen up, like I'd been holding my breath for years and was finally letting it go.
These days, I run around the sanctuary and I cannot explain how different it feels. Same four legs, same wind, same speed — but everything about it is different. There's no pressure in it anymore. It's just joy, plain and simple.
I think about where I came from sometimes. And then I look around at where I am now, and I wag my tail, because what else would you do?
My name is Marron. I was rescued, and it changed everything.
